Painted at the Outbreak of War
Edward Hopper worked on the painting from August to 15 September 1939—just as news of the outbreak of the Second World War was spreading. The National Gallery of Art has therefore read its charged atmosphere as a possible, subdued intimation of the catastrophe that had just begun in Europe.

Canvas with a fantastic painting by Edward Hopper from 1939. The American artist was best known for his realistic depictions of loneliness in contemporary America.
The painting, with its wonderful marine colors, is of four people on board a small sailing boat. The sailors are trying to get across a wavy, turquoise sea.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex; to Sweden and the rest of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest pickup point!
