The story behind the motif

Stureplan in the 1910s with Hôtel Anglais and bustling folk life. In the picture we see, among other things, trams lines 3 and 5, horse-drawn carriages, cycling and walking people in straw hats.

The name Sture in Stureplan is after the noble Sture family, including Sten Sture the elder, and the place has long been the center of Stockholm's entertainment with shopping, restaurants, cinemas, bars and later nightclubs.
