The story behind the motif
Norrbro in Stockholm south from Strömgatan. In the background we see the Riksdagshuset on Helgeandsholmen. The photograph was taken sometime during the 1910s. Norrbro is the oldest preserved stone bridge in Stockholm and runs between the castle in Gamla stan and Gustav Adolfs torg. It was designed by the architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz and inaugurated in 1807. In the picture we see equipment and trams that had recently been electrified. A fantastic wealth of detail with many people in town wearing period clothes.
