The story behind the motif
Poster with a unique image on Lutternsgatan - now called Kungsgatan. In the 1890s, Lutternsgatan was a steep hill up towards the current Sveavägen, today Kungsgatan is a much flatter street as most of the slope has been excavated.
The picture shows exciting details such as different shops, signs and people. An interesting detail is that the building seen on the left is still there and the balcony seen above the gate is still there today.
