After the Paris Years
In 1882, Vilhelm Rosenstand was awarded the Academy’s Thorvaldsen Medal for a café scene from Paris. When he returned to Copenhagen that autumn, he continued with the city’s café and street life; the following year, the painting was shown at the Nordic Exhibition and acquired by Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.

The story behind the motif

Canvas with a beautiful painting from 1882 by the Danish artist Vilhelm Rosenstrand. He is best known for his mural in the banquet hall at the University of Copenhagen depicting a group of students defending the capital in the war of 1864.

In the picture, we see a soldier and a woman sitting together and sharing a drink at Café A Porta's outdoor dining area in Copenhagen.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex; to Sweden and the rest of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest pickup point!
