Poster with an illustration from Putte's Adventures in the Blueberry Forest, a beloved Swedish children's book written and illustrated by Elsa Beskow, from the year 1901. It is one of Beskow's most famous works and is considered a classic in Swedish children's literature.
The book is about the little boy Putte who goes into the forest to pick berries as a gift for his mother. Unfortunately, he doesn't find any, which makes him sad. Then the Old Man Blueberry appears and takes him on a magical adventure through the blueberry forest and the lingonberry forest, where he gets help filling his baskets with berries.
In this motif, we see some blueberry boys that Putte meets in the forest. Putte has just entered among the blueberry rice and thinks it's blue, big apples he sees. Below them we see the text:
- Oh, oh, dear Putte, you're so stupid, don't you understand that it's berries! But here we have made it to my cottage! He shouts: - Come here my seven boys! - And in front of Putte stand in a line now seven blueberry boys and bow!
And the blueberry king smiles contentedly: - you can surely see whose boys these could be from the handwritten notes. Now, Putte, are you going to get your blueberries, hurry now, my blue boys, you're usually quick!
