Before the Bilux Breakthrough
Nasjonalmuseet dates the poster to 1921, four years before Osram’s Bilux lamp. Bilux combined dipped and main beam in a single light source and became the company’s major breakthrough in automotive lighting. The poster is therefore an early trace of Osram’s car advertising, before the innovation that later made the brand famous on the roads.
