Swimming in the middle of town? Did you know that between 1884 and 1933 you could bathe in a cold bathhouse at Norrström?

Strömbadet was the first cold bath house in Stockholm and was located on the water in front of the City Hall. There was one beautiful building, built in renaissance style and supposed to work for Stockholmers' health and swimming skills. School children, police officers and firefighters had free entry, for other visitors the entry was 35 öre. The swimming pool had a section for women, one for young guys and the largest, western pool for men who could swim. It is this department you see in the photograph. The Strömbadet was a venue for several major swimming competitions. In the picture you see a diving display sometime between the years 1900-1910. An impressive photograph by Axel Malmström showing men simultaneously doing various advanced swimming jumps. A man jumps with his back to us: an advanced jump that seems to be in spades. In the picture you also see an orchestra playing on the second plane.

What do you think, maybe it's time for a new Strömbad in Norrström? It would probably be a success pretty quickly!

We deliver worldwide and always offer free shipping! Depending on which country you are shipping to, the delivery may mean that certain customs fees and taxes are added - there is no duty or tax on deliveries within, for example, the EU, USA or Norway.

The delivery time is normally 1-3 working days within the Nordic region, 2-5 to the rest of Europe and 3-8 working days in other parts of the world. As for canvas paintings, we make them by hand in our factory in Sweden.

The canvas needs to dry before we stretch them on a wooden frame and send them to you. The delivery time for a canvas painting is therefore approximately 7 working days within the Nordic countries, slightly longer to other countries.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex, to Sweden and other parts of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest agent!
