Poster with a beautifully illustrated poster from 1896. The poster is an advertisement for an art exhibition in Gothenburg, June 19-September 1, 1896. On the picture we see the text " Arranged by the Gothenburg Art Association and Gnistan" .
Sällskapet Gnistan was founded in 1878 as an interest association which brought together those interested in art and art scholars in Gothenburg. The model was the society Idun in Stockholm.
The poster's artist Yngve Rasmussen later became active as an architect at several of the country's individual railways. He was known for creating regionally adapted station houses in the Art Nouveau and National Romantic styles of the time.
