Poster with an informative poster about Day H from the year 1967. Day H was the day when Sweden would switch from left-hand traffic to right-hand traffic and it was scheduled for September 3, 1967.
During the 1950s and 1960s, the number of cars had increased in Sweden and more people started traveling between different countries. This meant that Sweden needed to adapt to the traffic system in the rest of Europe, where in most countries people already drove on the right side.
In 1955, an advisory referendum was held where a majority of Sweden's population voted no to introducing right-hand traffic. Despite this, the Riksdag decided in 1963 that Sweden would switch to right-hand traffic in 1967. This was actually the second time Sweden introduced right-hand traffic. Sweden officially had right-hand traffic between 1718 and 1734, but since no one followed it, they switched back to left-hand traffic again.
Before the right-hand traffic diversion, large information campaigns were carried out about how the change would take place. Many people were worried and expected chaos and traffic accidents on the roads. Instead, it turned out that traffic accidents would decrease. It was probably not just due to the right-hand traffic. Sweden also introduced new traffic rules, scrapped free speed on roads and made structural changes to traffic on the roads.

We deliver worldwide and always offer free shipping! Depending on which country you are shipping to, the delivery may mean that certain customs fees and taxes are added - there is no duty or tax on deliveries within, for example, the EU, USA or Norway.
The delivery time is normally 1-3 working days within the Nordic region, 2-5 to the rest of Europe and 3-8 working days in other parts of the world. As for canvas paintings, we make them by hand in our factory in Sweden.
The canvas needs to dry before we stretch them on a wooden frame and send them to you. The delivery time for a canvas painting is therefore approximately 7 working days within the Nordic countries, slightly longer to other countries.
If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex, to Sweden and other parts of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest agent!
