Sweden’s first rotating lens
The year before the drawing was signed, Häradskär became Sweden’s first lighthouse with a rotating lens. The iron tower was built in Stockholm, dismantled and transported in sections to the skerry – a logistical feat behind the new lighthouse on the outer coast.

The story behind the motif
Poster with a beautiful drawing of Häradsskär's lighthouse apparatus from 1864. On the picture we see the texts: "Häradsskär's Lighthouse apparatus also the upper part of the Lighthouse. Drawing from the Lighthouse Engineer's Office, signed in Stockholm March 1864 by von Heidenstam".
