Grönsakstorget during spring is described with a quote from Göteborgs Aftonblad 13 April 1897:
" Grönsakstorget now presents a spring-like sight during the day, in the many spring products that appear there. The young leaves of the birch are sold by old women and children, and among the flowers are also offered one or two of the first fruits of spring."
