The story behind the motif

Poster with a captivating depiction of the first-ever manned hot air balloon flight in 1783 near Paris. The balloon, adorned in blue and yellow, was a pioneering 850-kilogram hot air balloon crafted entirely from paper.

Initially proposed to carry two convicted criminals, the journey ultimately honored two French aristocrats, who were later knighted for their courageous endeavor. The balloon itself is beautifully embellished with the French coat of arms, featuring a lily in striking blue and gold.
