A Chart from an Ambitious Enterprise
The chart was one of the plates in Amédée Guillemin’s astronomy book Le ciel. The 1877 edition was the thoroughly revised fifth version: 969 pages with 62 large plates, 22 of them in colour – an ambitious way of making modern astronomy accessible far beyond the observatories.
