The story behind the motif

Poster with a beautiful map of Visby on Gotland, illustrated in 1598 by Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg.

The black and white map is fantastically detailed and we see, among other things, beautiful houses and ships. We also see Visby's harbor and the Visby ring wall goes around the city - a city wall around the medieval part of Visby.
