The story behind the motif
Poster with a beautiful drawing of Utklippan's lighthouse from 1838. On the picture is the text: " Drawing for Lampfyr å Utklippan, at the entrance to Carlskrona. Stockholm on October 31, 1838.".

Utklippan is an island group where many migratory birds pass through . On the island group there is the Utklippan bird station, whose ringing operations were started on a small scale in 1964. After the lighthouse was decommissioned in 1972 , the Karlskrona Ornithological Club rented one of the lighthouse keepers' residences. Until the year 2004, 319,504 birds of 194 species had been ringed on Utklippan.
