The story behind the motif
Poster with a beautiful picture when the Tjörnbroarna was inaugurated in 1960 in Stenungsund. Although the Tjörnbroarna was largely completed during the previous decade, the inauguration was held on June 15, 1960. Governor Per Nyström cut the blue and yellow ribbons in the presence of thousands of people.
The new traffic route immediately became an attraction and on the Sunday after the opening, chaos reigned on the islands. The police calculated in the evening that 25,000 cars had passed through the traffic system that day.
