The story behind the motif
Poster with a painting from 1887 by the Swedish artist Hanna Hirsch-Pauli. The painting is called The Farm, or Ladugården in Swedish , and is painted in oil. In the picture we see a little girl looking out towards the barn where you can see people working.
Hanna Hirsch-Pauli first studied at August Malmström's art school in Stockholm 1876–79, then at the Art Academy. She continued her education at the Académie Colarossi in Paris 1885–87.
