The story behind the motif
Poster with a lovely summer picture from 1947 of two women reading a chart on a sailboat somewhere on the Swedish coast.
The summer of 1947 was an eventful and hot summer where several heat records were set and drought caused major problems all over Sweden. In Målilla it was a full 38 degrees, a record that still stands today.
In 1947 it had also been two years since the end of World War II and the news was constantly reporting on the hunt for Nazi war criminals.
