The story behind the motif

Poster with a lovely summer picture from the year 1947, taken by KG Kristoffersson. Six girls in bikinis jump in the air at the same time. The far right in the picture is visible Haide Göransson - a Swedish fashion model and actor.

The bikini in its modern form came to Sweden in the 1940s and was considered very daring and it had previously been completely unthinkable to bare the stomach. The arrival of the bikini in the 1940s completely changed the way we look at swimwear.
