The story behind the motif

Stureplan from above in 1952. In the picture we see a street environment and address Stureplan 3 between Birger Jarlsgatan and Biblioteksgatan. An awesome photograph with a lot of detail, period-typical cars and folk life.

The name Sture in Stureplan is after the noble Sture family, including Sten Sture the elder, and the place has long been the center of Stockholm's entertainment with shopping, restaurants, cinemas, bars and later nightclubs.
