The photograph captures sailboats in front of Stockholm City Hall during the School Youth City Hall Regatta, an event where young sailors competed in central Stockholm. The event took place in Riddarfjärden, in the middle of the city, and reflects both the great interest in sailing among young people and a time when outdoor activities and sports were seen as an important part of the idea of a people's home.
