The story behind the motif
A beautiful poster with it heraldic coat of arms for the province of Östergötland from the 19th century.

In the weapon there is a golden grip with dragon wings and dragon tail. A rose can be found in each corner of the shield.

The text above the coat of arms reads: Östergötland Arms. At the bottom left it says: "Sweden's National and Country Coat of Arms. Established by the Royal Majesty. After drawings by Prof. M. AD. Hildebrandt in Berlin. Published by Carl Arvid Klingspor."

Östergötland's largest cities are Linköping, Norrköping, Motala and Mjölby.
