The story behind the motif

Poster with a vintage poster for the 1909 Nordic Games in Stockholm. The Nordic Games are the forerunners of the Olympic Winter Games and were Nordic winter sports competitions that were organized in various locations in the Nordic region.

The games were active between the years 1901 and 1926 by Sweden's central association for the promotion of sports.

At the Nordic Games, several winter sports were found that were not included in the Olympic program, such as the kicking competition and figure skating. In the picture we see some examples of events practiced during the 1909 games.
