The story behind the motif

Poster with a beautiful painting of the Royal Garden in Stockholm in 1880.

In the picture we see people walking or sitting on benches in the park, and in the background you can see the royal palace and on the horizon Södermalm. It is a beautiful summer day.

Kungsträdgården began as a royal kitchen garden in the 15th century, inaccessible to the public. In the 18th century, during the time of Gustav III, the public was allowed access and the place became a popular entertainment center.
