The story behind the motif
Poster with a beautiful and colorful, old advertisement for Kockum's enamel . The ad is from 1940 where the company advertises its hygienic and practical enamel cookware. Available in delicious pastel colors, they are now popular items at flea markets and auctions.
The Kockum family founded the company at the end of the 19th century in Ronneby, Blekinge. Their enamel cookware was made in several different colors, but it is the mild yellow color with a green border at the top like the ones in the advertising picture, the Swedes liked the most. The products sold like hotcakes, and it did best in the 1930s when the products were seen in every other household.
