The story behind the motif
In the glow of street lamps, people walk along one of Stockholm's most famous streets in 1904; Hamngatan Consider that just 11 years later in 1915, perhaps Sweden's most famous and exclusive department store Nordiska Kompaniet opened right here.
Hamngatan, which got its current name in 1857, is located next to Kungsträdgården and Norrmalmstorg and has long been a center for commerce and entertainment. An atmospheric evening image of a life typical of the time in Sweden at the turn of the century.
