When trains ran indoors
When this image was taken, Gothenburg Central Station still had a train shed into which trains ran as part of the station building itself. In 1923, the hall was converted into a waiting room, with a glued-laminated timber structure designed by Folke Zettervall. Today’s central station thus still bears traces of a time when the journey literally ended under a roof.
