The story behind the motif

This poster features an 1843 painting by French artist Justinien Clary, created during his visit to Stockholm to see his aunt, Queen Desideria, spouse of King Karl XIV Johan. Capturing the queen's Swedish residence from across the stream, nestled between Kungsträdgården and the Royal Opera House, Clary's work highlights the majestic castle floor, where glowing wax candles illuminate the interiors.

The enchanting interplay of cold, snowy surroundings under a full moon evokes a vibrant and serene atmosphere, bringing life and historical elegance to any space.
