The story behind the motif
Poster with a painting depicting the naval battle at Reval, now called Tallinn, and showing the departure of the Swedish fleet after an attack on a Russian squadron. The battle took place on the 13th of May in the year 1790 during Gustav III's Russian War where Russia defeated Sweden. The painting was painted by artist Jacob Hägg in 1919.
