From Poster Contest to MGM
Before Jean Parker became an MGM name, she wanted to be an artist. At 17, she won a poster contest; when her photograph subsequently appeared in the Los Angeles press, Louis B. Mayer’s assistant Ida Koverman took notice. A screen test, contract and new name followed quickly.

The story behind the motif

High-wheeler during the 30s in Hollywood. Actress Jean Parker tries to learn to ride a bike in her spare time between filming on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer's studio. The bicycle was made by Singer from the year 1879.
