The alphabet that continued
After the alphabet—which also included Å, Ä and Ö—Ottilia Adelborg added a page of numerals of her own. The book was published by Albert Bonniers in 1892 and was awarded a prize as early as the following year at the World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, where it became a Swedish contribution to the international world of children’s books.

The story behind the motif

A beautiful poster with daisies and numbers from the book The flower alphabet of the princes by Ottilia Adelborg. 

Ottilia was a Swedish artist, writer and pioneer in cartoons. She is considered the originator of the Swedish children's book and often combined rhymes and songs with her beautiful illustrations meant to inspire children to learn both numbers and letters.
